Mama Lesson #18
by Wendy Garafalo on April 4th, 2016

Mama lesson # 18. Take one step at a time. I was walking down the stairs with my kids today, as I do everyday, holding each of their hands. Usually I'm in a rush to get downstairs, to make breakfast or get on with our day.

Today, we took our time. Avi is still working on stepping down the stairs, so we go slow and we stop at each step. She has the biggest smile on her face when I take this time with her. And Luca has been very patient and has even helped her down the stairs lately.

Today was a beautiful reminder to enjoy each and every step we take. Sometimes we get so focused on the end result, reaching a specific goal, that we forget to enjoy the ride. Even in yoga, we see all the famous Instagram Yogi's in their contorted inverted poses and we think, yea I can do that. For me, I rarely get to take a public yoga class, so when I do, I get so excited I sometimes push too hard. Its nice sometimes to slow down and just enjoy the step you are on. If you are working towards handstand, give yourself time, use the wall, enjoy and celebrate the little moments. For when you look back, it will be all those little moments that really mattered. Namaste friends. May your lives constantly teach you lessons, and when they do, please share!‪#‎thisismyyoga‬ ‪#‎nextsteps‬ ‪#‎lifeisprecious‬ ‪#‎enjoytheride‬
